One day Jackie turned to Johnny and said do you see the jet plane flying overhead we should be up there you and I know this place is too small so much open space but no freedom at all let’s move away somewhere closed in by their small home town Johnny and Jackie didn’t want to stick around we didn’t have a thing to do in our town all the streets shut down at night and all the people were so uptight we didn’t see anything new in our town we thought there must be such delight under the bright big city lights in the big city things worked out for a while till Johnny picked up a new lifestyle Johnny lost his way Jackie tried to help poor Johnny along but Johnny’s addiction was much too strong Jackie couldn’t stay so much had happened since they left their town Johnny didn’t change Jackie didn’t stick around we didn’t have a thing to do in our town all the streets shut down at night and all the people were so uptight we didn’t see anything new in our town we thought there must be such delight under the bright big city lights without Jackie Johnny never came down without Jackie he couldn’t turn himself around Jackie is in the city still hates the small town found a new Johnny while the other kept falling down
